How long until my server is available after purchasing?
VPS/Minecraft Servers are created automatically and should be online within 10 minutes from the time of placing the order. If you are having issues, make sure to contact us after the 10 minutes. Dedicated Servers require some setup time and you will be contacted with this info within 1 hour on the status.
How do I login into my server panel?
Your server panel login is different than your client area login. We have created a short introduction guide in our knowledgebase.
Am I able to transfer my current server to Hivehosted?
Of course. You can access the FTP from either the web client or program (Filezilla) and upload your world, files and configs for Minecraft Servers. VPS Servers can use SSH and FTP (Filezilla) to transfer all files and setups. If you need help with this, don’t hesitate to contact support.
Is it possible to use modded jars for Minecraft Hosting?
Definitely! That is what we specialize in. You can upload any jar or mod via FTP. If you need help, let us know and we can do it for you.
Do I have full access to install plugins for Minecraft Hosting?
You sure do. You have complete access to your server files to do as you wish. You can use either the web based FTP or via FileZilla. If you would like help on this, then send us a ticket with the plugin attached.. Do note that the web ftp has restrictions that aren’t there when using filezilla.
Do you provide dedicated IP’s?
All Minecraft, VPS and Dedicated Servers include a dedicated IP. If you are an existing customer and wish for a dedicated IP, please submit a ticket. If your server wasn’t set up with one when it should have, contact us and we’ll fix it. This is normally due to running out of them for the server you were placed on.
I don’t have a custom domain, can you setup one for me?
We sure can. If you would like something along the lines of ‘johnmc.hivehosted.com’, then you can just submit a ticket and we will set it up for you.
Can my users help me pay my bills?
Yes they can! Just visit your client area and select the group pay menu option. This will provide you with a url that you can give to others to help you pay. This will then apply to your credit balance on your account. That balance then can be applied to invoices.
I want to upgrade my server.
Visit the below link, find your server, click view details and then click management actions. It then will ask for you to pay the invoice. You will only pay the difference of the upgrade, it is prorated. Once that is paid and it confirms the upgrade, the system will then automatically upgrade your server and restart it. If you have any issues, just contact us and we’ll help you out.
I get automated backups right?
You can go into the scheduled tasks menu in the panel and create scheduled events for your server. Want it to say a message every so often? Want it to make a backup every 3 hours? How about save the world every 30 minutes? All of that and more can be done with the scheduled tasks. When you get your server setup you will want to jump in and set that up. You will need to run manual backups for your setups.
I am not very good when it comes to mods and plugins, can you help?
Most definitely! That is the part we take pride in. We know the ins and outs of both and can get it working for you. We can teach you how to become sufficient so you can show off to your members the new tools you’ve learned. If we have a time window to help you, we will even get into teamviewer and show you right on your screen! Or you can just contact us and we’ll handle it all for you.
Do you offer refunds?
We offer a 48 hour money back guarantee. We highly suggest contacting support if you need any assistance with your service. If custom work is completed, then only a partial refund will be offered.
Do I have limits?
You do not to a degree. We do not limit the amount of hard drive space or bandwidth you can use but it’s all within reason. With Minecraft/Mod/Plugins not being the best optimized, if one was to overwhelm the servers, we would not be liable for what happens on your server. We would have to take action against offending servers, but we haven’t had to yet with any current customers, and we’d like to keep it that way by informing them ahead of time. If you ever are unsure about a mod or plugin, make sure to submit a ticket and we would be glad to assist you.

Of course, just change the value from within the panel. The number we set is just a recommendation.
Do I have to have a paypal account to purchase a server?
No you do not, when it takes you to the paypal page, just select the ‘Don’t have a paypal account?’ option instead of logging in.
Can I use Tekkit/Bukkit/Feed the Beast or any other mod pack for Minecraft Hosting?
